Wip-Wop / Whip-Whop rope
Description
This Wip-Wop / Whip-Whop rope is made with 12mm diameter 100% polyester braid on braid rope. A loop for your hand is at one end, and a leather popper at the opposite. The wip-wop rope is 40" in length, including the hand loop.
The wip-wop rope is a versatile tool that effectively motivates your horse, encouraging forward movement.
When using the wip-wop rope, gently use it rhythmically from side to side on yourself. The movement and noise are usually enough to stimulate your horse to move forward. If need be, you can continue with gentle side-to-side rhythmic movement and move down your body so the wip-wop touches the horse's sides, behind your leg.
Timing up with your horse's feet can help improve their response. Try to touch the horse on their side when the hind leg is leaving the ground, as this is when the rider has the most influence over the feet. In most scenarios it is the inside hind leg that you would like to influence first.
In addition, the wip-wop can be a useful tool for helping a horse become confident with extra motion from the rider.
