The slobber straps (rein leathers) attach the snaffle bit to the Mecate (horseman’s) reins or the Sport reins. They slow the message from the hands to the horse's mouth, maximise feel and promote quick release for teaching the horse a soft feel.

These slobber straps are straight cut with natural edges. They are made from 10/11oz skirting leather and measure 1 1/4” wide and 8" long. They feature a moulded groove at the fold to hold the bit.
