Horseman’s Reins
Description
The Horseman's reins are made from high-quality Tuff Tack 12mm diameter, braid on braid, 100% polyester rope that is smooth and sweat-resistant. The Horseman's reins attach to the bit with slobber straps (rein leathers).
Designed for versatility and ease of use, these Horseman’s reins can be quickly shortened or lengthened to suit any riding situation. The integrated lead rope (get-down rope) adjusts up to 22 feet or extends fully to create ground-driving reins, giving you reliable control from saddle or ground. Finished with a durable leather popper on one end, this rein setup delivers both function and traditional style—perfect for training, trail work, and everyday horsemanship.
These reins are an adaption of the traditional Spanish Mecate horse hair reins.

NOTE: the slobber straps (rein leathers) are NOT included, however they can be purchased separately.
At Total Horsemanship, we use 100% polyester rope instead of the typical nylon yachting rope. Nylon rope stretches and can become stiff with use, absorbing moisture and increasing in thickness. Polyester rope will stay true to its original form.
